| Kathy has been mastering her craft since 1990. As a strong believer in continuing education she has always been on the forefront with great training. Her motivation has come from training with Goldwell, Frederic Fekkai and Bumble and bumble. With nearly two decades of experience Kathy’s exposure to all facets of beauty allow her to give her clients the ultimate experience. Kathy will continue to strive for excellence and her goal is to make people feel beautiful inside and out. The first time I realized how special the salon experience was, I was seven years old. I can still remember the way I felt and how pretty I looked. My mother stood nearby and shared this moment with me. That day I knew that I wanted to be a hairstylist. I reminisce about the connection between me and my stylist, and how special she made me feel. I would like to be that person, that stylist to my clients. |
| My passion for make-up and beauty goes back to my childhood, and has shaped me into the professional I am today. I vividly remember watching in awe as my mother sat in front of her dresser, carefully applying her mascara and painting her lips with a rich red color that she always wore. This daily ritual that seemed so mundane to her was the highlight of my day, and I would study every movement she made, in the hopes of one day being able to re-enact them. A childish fascination has since then grown into a lifestyle, and my passion for beauty has allowed me to pursue the career of my dreams. After extensive training and education in both the art of make-up and skin care, I have applied my skills both as a free lancer and as a business owner. Opening up Katana Spa has been one of many blessings in my career, and further established me as an eminent esthetician. After furthering my make-up education and training under the guidance of Boston based make-up guru David Nicolas, I was contracted out to work for lines such as Smashbox and Fresh. My experience and expertise include the performing arts, fashion, and I have done a variety of media such as video, fashion photography, and commercial television. Ultimately my goal is to help men and women feel and look their best, and have been given the opportunity to participate in charitable causes in the Boston area, including Joslin Diabetes Center, Newport Under the Stars, Children’s Hospital and Susan G. Komen 3 day breast cancer walk. I strive to further extend my knowledge within skin care and keep up with the latest trends and technologies. Customer satisfaction is of utmost importance to me, and I am fully dedicated to making you, my client, my priority. |
